The Wild Plants for Food & Medicine: A Practical Beginner Series at Hagood Mill Historic Site is a hands-on educational experience designed for beginners who want to learn by doing.
Each class is a full-day immersion combining instruction, demonstration, and practical application — no prior experience required.
What This Series Covers
This eight-part series walks participants step-by-step through:
• Identifying and harvesting wild plants
• Preserving plants for later use
• Preparing teas, infusions, salves, and lotions
• Making natural soaps and beauty products
• Using wild edibles safely as food
• Understanding the basics of plant-based medicine
Classes are offered on paired dates, allowing flexibility while keeping class sizes small.
Class Format
• One-day classes
• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with lunch break)
• Small group setting (3–10 students)
• Hands-on, beginner-focused instruction
• Each class may be taken individually or as part of the full series
Pricing
Individual Classes: $100 each
Full Series Pass: $700 (Save $100)
The Full Series Pass includes all eight classes and is limited to 10 participants.
