If you like mountain history, you will love this place. There is a water-driven mill still working and a number of cabins and buildings very nicely restored in a very cozy setting. The site is easily accessible. There's an ongoing series of interesting festivals and events at this site.
Great monthly events and quiet camping. The place is one of South Carolina's treasures.

Turn up the heat by joining us for a day of great blues with the legendary, Mac Arnold!
Upcountry South Carolina is a historical Mecca for the blues. Throughout the 1920’s and 1930’s the streets of Laurens County, Greenville, Spartanburg, & Anderson reverberated with the music of bluesman/street-preachers as they were strolling with their tin cups extended. Many of these musicians became famous on the streets of New York City in the folk revival of the 50’s & 60’s. It is this tradition that we celebrate each February at the Hagood Mill Historic Site.
This years lineup in addition to Mac Arnold is, Carolina Slim, David Donar, and Freddie Vanderford. Hear the old music that made the upstate of South Carolina a famous “roots environment” for the Piedmont Blues; some tunes primitive in nature and others coming from the sweet soul of South Carolina bluesmen of long ago.
