Get ready for a true taste of the South right here at Hagood Mill Historic Site! Join us May 15–16 for the Inaugural Upcountry Grits Festival—a weekend packed with live music, delicious food, and Appalachian heritage.

From classic stone-ground grits to creative Southern dishes, this one-of-a-kind festival celebrates one of the region’s most beloved staples in the most authentic setting imaginable.

🎤 Friday Night – May 15
Kick things off with a live concert at 7:30 PM in the Heritage Pavilion

As part of the Inaugural Upcountry Grits Festival, we’re hosting an exciting Grits Cooking Competition—and YOU could take home bragging rights as the best grits chef around!

The twist? All competitors will use Hagood Mill’s own stoneground grits—freshly milled right here on-site for that authentic, old-time flavor.

Whether you keep it classic or get creative, we want to see your best dish!
