Featuring Perilla & Bee Balm
Plant Medicine 102a
🕙 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Join us for a hands-on herbal medicine class focused on creating tinctures and glycerites using locally foraged antimicrobial plants, including Perilla and Bee Balm. This immersive workshop blends traditional plant wisdom with practical, take-home skills you can use in your own kitchen and garden.
Donna Horn Putney, affectionately known as “Donna Mother Herb,” is a retired nurse and Certified Holistic Naturopathic Practitioner who has been an advocate for local, sustainable food and plant medicine in the Upstate for decades.
Donna and her husband, Lenard, designed and operated Putney Farm, a permaculture food forest, free-range poultry farm, nursery, and herbal paradise for over 20 years. They also helped launch the local food movement through the former online market Upstate Locally Grown.
With decades of experience studying edible and medicinal plants, Donna now shares her knowledge through in-person classes and online education. You can find her on Facebook as “Donna Horn Putney.”
This 4-hour class includes a 30-minute lunch break and is designed to be both educational and experiential. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions such as:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Foraging & Plant Identification
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM | Making Herbal Remedies
You’ll leave the class confident, inspired, and equipped with new skills—and excited to continue your plant medicine journey. Each class is unique, featuring different plants or methods, so no two sessions are ever the same.
We look forward to foraging, learning, and creating with you—see you there! 🌿
