Step back in time and experience the art of traditional blacksmithing! Join historical demonstrator Kevin Thompson for a hands-on introduction to this centuries-old craft. In this immersive class, students will learn foundational blacksmithing techniques and create simple yet functional items like S-hooks and wall hooks.

📌 Registration Deadline: One day before the class date (unless approved by Hagood Mill staff and instructor)

👕 Dress for the weather: Because of the summer heat, students may wear a T-shirt. Long sleeves are not required. Shorts are also permitted; however, long pants are strongly recommended for additional protection from sparks, hot metal, and the forge environment.
Students must be 12 years of age or older. Students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult is not required to register as a paying student but must remain outside the smithy during class.
