Take the next step in your blacksmithing journey with Blacksmithing 103, where students will forge their own flame-tipped wall sconce candle holders. This project-based class builds on the skills learned in Blacksmithing 101 and 102, incorporating more advanced techniques and precision work.
What You’ll Learn:
Drawing out long, thin tapers for elegant, refined shapes
Creating recessed screw holes for secure wall mounting
Working with candle pans and cups, riveting them to the sconce
Mastering a new decorative twist technique
Finishing with boiled linseed oil to protect and enhance the final piece
By the end of the class, you’ll have a beautiful, handcrafted set of sconces that showcase your growing blacksmithing abilities.
Class Details:
Date & Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (7 hours of instruction with a 1-hour lunch break)
Class Size: Limited to 5 students
Age Requirement: Students under 18 must be accompanied by an observing adult (no fee for the adult)
Cost: $145 per student
