Mark your calendars for October 17–18, 2025 as the Storytelling Festival & Liar’s Competition returns to the Hagood Mill Historic Site!

👻 Friday Night Frights & Ghost Stories kicks things off on Oct. 17 at 6:30 PM with spine-tingling tales hosted by Johnny Thomas Fowler and featuring storytellers Dr. Nancy Tolson, Amanda Lawrence, and Lona Bartlett. Admission: $10 (ages 10+).

🎤 On Saturday, Oct. 18, the festival continues with a full day of stories, laughter, and folklore—headlined by award-winning storyteller Paul Strickland! You’ll also enjoy Doug Elliott’s nature tales, Lib & Tara Porter’s Old Time Medicine Show, and The Legendary James Brothers, plus the always-hilarious Liar’s Competition.
