Join us for KidsFest at Hagood Mill Historic Site on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in partnership with the Young Appalachian Musicians (YAMs). This family-friendly event features performances from local YAMs students, a traditional talent show, and interactive games and activities.
Attendees can enjoy hands-on experiences like Paint the Ponies, a kazoo workshop, jug band jam, archaeological adventures, rock painting, and an “Instrument Petting Zoo,” where visitors can try their hand at Appalachian instruments.
In addition to the musical festivities, the event will showcase live folklife demonstrations in blacksmithing, pottery, quilting, weaving, basketmaking, and more. Guests can engage with artisans, learn about traditional crafts, and purchase unique handmade items.
The 1845 water-powered gristmill will be in operation, offering fresh stone-ground cornmeal, grits, and flours for purchase.
