Capture the flavor of summer in a jar during this hands-on preserving class at Hagood Mill Historic Site. Using fresh local peaches, participants will learn how to create delicious low-sugar peach preserves and a flavorful peach chutney using natural low-sugar pectin techniques.
This class covers proper fruit preparation, safe canning practices, balancing flavors, and achieving excellent texture while reducing sugar. Whether you’re new to home preserving or looking for healthier alternatives to traditional recipes, you’ll leave with practical skills and recipes you can recreate at home.
Participants will take home jars of their finished products along with the knowledge and confidence to preserve seasonal fruits using lower-sugar methods.
