Hiking & Nature Trails

Surrounding Hagood Mill Historic Site are miles of picturesque hiking and nature trails that wind through lush forests, alongside tranquil creeks, and past historic landmarks. These trails provide a peaceful escape into nature, with opportunities to spot local wildlife, admire native plants, and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors.

  • Historic Trail Loop – A scenic path that takes visitors through the historic grounds, past the gristmill, cabins, and petroglyph site.

Primitive Camping

Experience the beauty of the South Carolina foothills with a stay at the Hagood Mill Historic Site! Our grounds feature over 50 scenic acres of land, offering a peaceful, rustic setting perfect for tent campers and RVs alike.

🏕️ Primitive Camping

Hagood Mill is a primitive camping venue — meaning there are no electrical or septic hookups. The designated camping area is located across the road from the historic mill buildings, near the Heritage Pavilion and disc golf course. Campsites are nestled along the creek and under the tree lines surrounding the open fields, providing a natural and tranquil atmosphere.

Please note that our 18-hole disc golf course is active, so campers should remain aware of occasional flying discs!

🚿 Camp Amenities

Camp Central is located at the Heritage Pavilion, where you’ll find:

  • A bathhouse with three private restrooms (each includes a shower)

  • A wheelchair-accessible porta potty

  • A water spigot

  • Additional porta potties placed throughout the site

🔥 Rules & Guidelines

To preserve the peaceful environment for all guests:

  • Noisy generators are not permitted when other campers are present.

  • Campfires are allowed only in designated or pre-approved fire areas.

  • Quiet hours: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

Disc Golf Course

Challenge yourself on our scenic 18-hole disc golf course, which winds through the rolling hills and wooded areas of Hagood Mill Historic Site. Designed for players of all skill levels, the course features:
